Sylvain is a member of MNP’s Tax Services team in Brossard. Sylvain brings more than 25 years of experience providing tax services to his role, with a focus on high-value added tax engagements.

Sylvain’s areas of expertise include tax optimization for corporate structure, estate planning, and managing executive and shareholder compensation. He focuses on corporate restructuring, succession planning and business transition, asset protection and tax litigation, including tax audits, objections, and voluntary disclosures. His clients include businesses from the technology, service, and manufacturing and processing industries.

Sylvain graduated from the Université du Québec à Montréal with a Bachelor of Accounting (BAA), and received a certification in corporate governance from the Université Laval. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), qualifying in 2001.

Sylvain CSA works to promote the CPA profession in the community. He is a member of the Tax and Indirect Tax working group and the government relations committee of the Quebec CPA Order. In this capacity, he helps prepare briefs for pre-budget consultations each year. He also represented the Quebec CPA Order during the Québec Taxation Review Committee (Godbout Commission).

In addition to being a member of the Quebec CPA Order and its professional inspection committee, Sylvain is a longtime member of the Tax and Financial Planning Association (Association de planification fiscale et financière), where he has served as a trainer. As an author, he has written articles for the journal Stratège and for the Canadian Tax Foundation. Bilingual in French and English, Sylvain appears regularly as a subject matter expert in print, radio, and television media.
