Maruf Raza CPA, CA

Partner, Senior Vice President Assurance & National Leader Public Companies

Maruf is MNP’s Senior Vice President of Assurance and Accounting Services and the firm’s national Public Companies Leader. He is responsible for ensuring the firm meets clients’ assurance business needs, as well as complying with professional standards. Maruf is also in charge of innovation in MNP’s audit and assurance practice, ensuring a dynamic approach in a rapidly changing assurance environment.  

A thought leader on International Financial Accounting Standards (IFRS), Maruf has conducted technical research on IFRS and U.S. accounting standards, including being part of CPA Canada’s IFRS Discussion Group and committees at the Ontario Securities Commission. He has worked in countries around the world and helps companies in Canada obtain financing through both public and private transactions. Maruf has extensive experience helping clients in the technology, mining, and gaming sectors. He also works with investment funds and Exempt Market Dealers.

As MNP’s Public Companies Leader, Maruf advises public companies and private companies planning to go public through direct initial public offerings or reverse mergers. He has served as a director and audit committee chair for multiple Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) Canadian Securities Exchange (CSE)-listed companies, and is a past board chair of a TSX-Venture listed company.

Maruf graduated from Toronto Metropolitan University with a Bachelor of Commerce (BComm) in accounting and finance in 1999. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), qualifying as a Chartered Accountant (CA) in 2001. 

Maruf serves on the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC)-CPA Canada Joint Mining Task Force.
