Ratan is a member of MNP’s Public Companies practice in Toronto. Client focused, Ratan delivers high quality, innovative advice to successfully implement change, helping Canadian and U.S. publicly listed companies achieve their goals.

Ratan works closely with his public company clients, and has significant experience in the telecommunications, media, technology, manufacturing and consumer goods and services sectors. Ratan specializes in serving clients reporting under U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP), and International Financial Reporting standards (IFRS). These audits have mainly been conducted in accordance with Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) auditing standards, including advising on their complex accounting and business issues, helping them achieve success. Additionally, he conducts first-year Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) implementation for Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR) integrated audits. Ratan also participates in auditing engagements reporting under Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE) in Canada.

Ratan joined MNP in 2021 after spending 14 years at a Big Four firm, where he was stationed in Canada, as well as internationally. During this time, he was focused on serving public companies in diverse industries, and also worked on key audit quality initiatives as a part of its global network.

Ratan earned an Honours Bachelor of Commerce (BComm) with distinction from Calcutta University, India in 1999. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), qualifying as a Chartered Accountant (CA) in Canada in 2019 and as a Chartered Accountant (CA) from India in 2004.
