Linda Gao, CPA, CGA, FCCA (UK), CPA (ND), CISA, CIA

Linda is member of MNP’s Enterprise Risk Services team in Vancouver and leads a majority of the firm’s B.C.-headquartered CEO/CFO Certification, Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) 404, and National Instrument (NI) 52-109 projects. Linda brings two decades of experience in regulatory compliance, internal audit co-sourcing and outsourcing, business process improvement, risk management, statutory audit, and financial reporting to her role.

With hands-on experience gained from working in Canada and abroad (China), Linda possesses extensive knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP)and has worked closely with senior management filling critical roles.

Linda has extensive knowledge of business and IT assessment and improvement in Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR), and Disclosure Controls and Procedures (DC&P) for publicly traded and private companies, as well as for not-for-profit and government organizations. Her work has resulted in numerous improvements, remediation plans, and direct assistance to CEOs and CFOs completing regulatory compliance mandates. She has also worked as a finance team leader in roles spanning internal auditor, controller, senior finance manager, and CFO in an interim capacity.

Linda helps companies in a variety of industries, including gaming, sports and entertainment, renewable energy, oil and gas, cannabis, fast-moving consumer goods, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, technology, mining, public sector, Indigenous, and education.

Bilingual in English and Mandarin (Chinese), Linda earned a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2000. She is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA, UK) and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), qualifying as a Certified General Accountant (CGA) in 2014. She is a Certified Public Accountant (North Dakota, U.S.), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
