Tell us about your career path
I have a rather atypical background, as I was a practicing dentist for five years before switching careers to valuations. I had noticed standard business valuation methods were only minimally used in dental practices, and I wanted to address this need. So, I earned an MBA, and in 2017, started my own valuation firm.
To deepen my knowledge and offer my clients professional and rigorous valuations, I have taken various highly specialized training courses in the field. I am a chartered business valuator (CBV), and a member of the Canadian CBV Institute at York University. As well, I’m an undergraduate lecturer at the Faculty of Dentistry at Université Laval.
What prompted you to join MNP
As a national firm, MNP has a deep pool of expertise and services I can draw on to give clients access to more resources. We were a small team, but now we will be able to respond more quickly to client needs and serve them better. In addition, with its national coverage, MNP will allow us to further develop the health sector.
For me, being involved in my community is ingrained, so seeing this as a value shared by MNP was also key.
How do you and your team get involved in your community
Currently, I sit on various boards and volunteer for several organizations, including Maison Dauphine’s virtual auction in Québec City, which provides assistance and support services to street youth. We also provide toothbrushes for the Christmas baskets distributed by Le Pignon bleu, a community organization that contributes to the nutritional well-being of children and families in Québec City.
I believe it is important to contribute to society and give back. I often bring my daughter with me to activities to make her aware not everyone is lucky enough to have a good start in life.
Finally, I’m involved with the next generation of dentists by frequently giving lectures to dental students. My goal is to help them learn more about our sector and to talk to them about the challenges of practising dentistry. I also give lectures to health professionals, for example during the Journées dentaires internationales du Québec and at the Ordre des médecins vétérinaires du Québec’s Congress in 2021.
What do you love about your job
I like new challenges and getting out of my comfort zone. In this respect, I’m fortunate in my work! I enjoy being able to carve out a place for myself in the field of dental practices and implement new, more modern methods adapted to the realities of this industry.
My team and I have earned a strong reputation within the dental sector because of our rigorous, professional method and strict code of ethics. Now as part of MNP, I am excited about being able to expand our reach to new regions and new professional sectors.
