Darren is a member of MNP’s Assurance and Accounting team in Waterloo. Darren works one-on-one with medium- to large-sized public and private companies; credit unions; Indigenous communities, business enterprises, and related organizations. He helps his clients gain valuable insights and reach their business goals.

Focused primarily on the financial services and technology industries, Darren advises on the implementation of complex accounting issues. His specialized services include financial statement audits, purchase price allocations, impairment, and complex financial instruments. He brings extensive experience in complex accounting under the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE), and Accounting Standards for Not-for-Profit Organizations (ASNPO) to his role. Darren primarily conducts medium to large audits and review engagements for companies with assets of up to $2.5 billion and revenues of up to $250 million. He conducts supervisory reviews of external audits, engagement quality reviews, and serves as a subject matter expert across the firm.

Darren earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in accounting, audit, and information technology from Conestoga College in 2014. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), qualifying as a Chartered Accountant (CA) in 2016, placing on the 20-member National Honour Roll for the Common Final Evaluation.

Darren speaks on complex accounting issues and accounting developments to client stakeholders and at industry regulator educational sessions. His community contributions also include marking the Common Final Examination for CPA Canada.

Darren is treasurer and a board member of the Waterloo Region Community Foundation.
