An Overview of Understanding Trauma

Join us for an engaging session in our Indigenous Health Webinar Series: An Introduction to Understanding Trauma.

Building resilient schools, families, and communities is a vital step in addressing historical and intergenerational trauma. Led by a Starr Commonwealth Certified Trauma and Resilience Trainer, this live webinar will introduce the participants to the science behind how stress and trauma can impact the brain and our behaviour. We will also explore a code for building resilience, following Dr. Martin Brokenleg’s Circle of Courage model. This webinar will offer a high-level overview of practical strategies to create supportive systems that nurture resilience and well-being.

This is an interactive learning experience. Participants are encouraged to engage in open dialogue within a safe and supportive environment, with cameras on, to foster connection and collaboration.
