Maggie Bussières: an inspiring journey at MNP
Maggie Bussières () joined MNP as a Senior Manager following a major acquisition in Quebec a few years ago. She holds a Bachelor of Administration (Finance) from the Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue, a Master of Taxation from the Université de Sherbrooke, and a Financial Planner designation from the Association de planification fiscale et financière.
After her obtaining her Master’s, Maggie decided to return home to start her career at a large accounting firm as a Senior Analyst, convinced she would learn quickly. The office was without a tax specialist, providing her with a growth opportunity to take initiative and learn the ropes.
Acknowledging her ambition, Maggie was soon asked to take on several responsibilities, quickly honing her technical skills, which resulted in her promotion to Manager. Her upwards momentum didn’t stop there. Maggie was thrilled that through MNP’s acquisition, she was further promoted to Senior Manager, where she continued to make an impact. And while still in her twenties, she made Partner.

If she has one piece of advice for students that wish to pursue a similar career, it is “to get to know yourself, to respect your limits, and to trust the experienced people around you.”
Outside of MNP, Maggie has long been involved in aquatics, practising competitive lifeguarding and swimming. These passions have taught her how to persevere, push her limits, and the importance of surrounding yourself with good people. Maggie believes that a balanced lifestyle is an abstract concept, and that everyone has their own sweet spot. As a new mother, she was pleasantly surprised at how much family time is valued at MNP.
Maggie especially loves the variety of challenges that MNP offers. For her, every day is different. At MNP, she has found an environment where she can grow and explore new ideas while staying true to her values and ambitions.
