National Professional Services Firm, MNP, Merges With Rouyn-Noranda-Based Dallaire & Lapointe Inc.

MNP Joins Forces with Dallaire & Lapointe Inc., representing its First Merger in Abitibi

May 15, 2024, CALGARY, AB MNP, one of Canada’s largest national professional services firms, is pleased to announce that it will join forces with the chartered professional accounting firm, Dallaire & Lapointe Inc., effective July 8, 2024. This is MNP’s first merger in Abitibi, expanding its existing presence in the region.

Based in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec, Dallaire & Lapointe Inc. is led by two Partners, Nancy Jolette and Marc Dallaire. The Partners are supported by a team of 10 professionals. The firm provides a range of accounting, tax and advisory services to private enterprise companies throughout the region. The firm also has locations in Ville-Marie, Amos and La Sarre.

MNP has been steadily expanding its footprint throughout Quebec since entering the market in 2011 with its first office in Montreal. Today, MNP has 26 offices, 168 partners and over 1,300 team members across the province.

Jean-François Leblanc, MNP’s Regional Managing Partner for the Saguenay region, which includes MNP’s three offices in Abitibi, said that the merger reflects MNP’s ongoing commitment to investing and growing in the region.

“With this first merger in Abitibi, we are demonstrating our commitment to growing our presence in the region and to supporting the businesses and organizations that thrive here.” said Leblanc. “We are very excited to welcome Dallaire & Lapointe Inc. – a firm that shares our values and client-centric approach – into the MNP fold.”

Nancy Jolette, CPA, Partner at Dallaire & Lapointe Inc., says that the merger strengthens her team’s ability to offer additional and complementary professional services to their existing clients.

“MNP complements and enhances our current service offerings and brings greater bench strength that will help us service clients across Abitibi.” said Jolette, “We believe that joining MNP is a perfect example of how we can come together to give our clients the edge they need to grow their businesses, stay competitive and overcome current business and industry challenges. By joining MNP we will add more resources and specialized services, which will help to provide our clients with even greater value in the future.”

Founded in 1958, MNP has grown to more than 125 locations across Canada and delivers a wide range of services and specialized expertise in every sector and area of business. While becoming the largest of the mid-market focused firms in Canada, MNP has continued to maintain its Canadian roots, helping Canadian businesses both at home and abroad.

"We have grown quickly but we are absolutely committed to maintaining our culture and so have always been very strategic about who we invite to join our team," added Jeremy Cole, FCPA, FCA, CBV, MNP's Executive Vice President for the GTA and Quebec. "We are known across the communities we work with as being one of Canada's most-trusted professional services firms, so we are excited to welcome a very well-respected practice in Dallaire & Lapointe Inc. into the MNP family. Our cultures and values are well-aligned, and we share the same entrepreneurial, trusted approach to doing business."

Dallaire & Lapointe Inc. Partner, Marc Dallaire, CPA, says one of their deciding factors to join MNP was the culture.

“Although MNP is a large, national firm, it’s best known across Canada for its personal, local focus and commitment to being present in and supporting the communities in which its teams live and work,” said Dallaire. “This was incredibly important to Nancy and me, as well as our team; when you’re making a move as significant as this the ‘fit’ has to be right. We couldn’t be more excited about joining forces with MNP.”

The Dallaire & Lapointe Inc. team will remain in their current offices in Rouyn-Noranda, which will become MNP’s second location there. Their Ville-Marie office will become a new MNP location, whereas the Amos team will join MNP at their Amos location. The team will work with MNP’s existing teams across Quebec to enjoy access to greater resources and services to help businesses in their community.
