MISSISSAUGA, ON, August 23, 2022 — MNP, one of the largest national professional services firms in Canada — including more than 300 team members based in Mississauga and Peel Region — has announced a long-term financial commitment to supporting Trillium Health Partners (THP). MNP’s donation of $350,000 will help enable THP’s objective of delivering leading-edge health care to the more than 2.2 million people in the West Greater Toronto Area, by building new infrastructure as part of a more complete, efficient, and equitable health system.
MNP’s donation follows the historic investment made by philanthropist Peter Gilgan and The Peter Gilgan Foundation. Jim Molyneux, Regional Managing Partner for Peel Region, explained that MNP’s donation reflects the firm’s commitment to investing in the communities that they are a part of.
“At MNP we truly believe that making a positive difference in the communities where we live, work, and play is a fundamental part of who we are,” said Molyneux. “Joining forces with Trillium Health Partners to help them achieve their vision of creating a new kind of health care for a healthier community is something that we are passionate about as a firm. The incredible work that Trillium does will benefit people and families right across the region and we’re proud to contribute to their success.”
Over the next 20 years, THP will experience more demand for care than any other hospital in the province as the region’s population continues to grow and age, and as health care needs become more complex. MNP’s multi-year gift will help fund modern facilities, technology and equipment, high-impact research for meaningful ways to improve care, as well as a rapid response fund to extend care across the community. This includes support towards essential mental health initiatives.
Caroline Riseboro, President and CEO of Trillium Health Partners Foundation, says that donations from businesses and leaders from across the region make a significant difference to the organization’s ability to achieve its stated goals.
“Trillium Health Partners serves one of the fastest-growing and most diverse populations in Canada and has been challenged with an unprecedented demand for care,” explained Riseboro. “Community involvement and support plays an instrumental role in enabling our vision and helping to build the new infrastructure that will be so desperately needed in the future. With the help of Mississauga business leaders like MNP, Trillium Health Partners will be able to redefine health care to meet the needs of our community today and for generations to come,” says Riseboro.
“MNP is known for helping businesses to grow, innovate, adapt, and succeed,” added Laura Camara, MNP’s Regional Professional Services Leader for Peel Region. “We’re proud to support a healthier community and recognize its importance to the overall health of the region. We look forward to the future here in Mississauga.”
