MNP welcomes AJ Gill to our Agriculture Risk Management Resources (ARMR) group in the Okanagan. Working out of MNP’s Kelowna office as a Senior Manager, AJ’s passion for agriculture started with his deep roots in the sector. AJ, who moved to Canada from India in 1988, grew up in a farming family. His hands-on agricultural background has given him deep insights into the challenges, issues and opportunities available to farmers. And his passion for helping farmers has engaged him throughout his career.

A seasoned leader with nearly two decades of combined experience in the federal and B.C. governments, AJ was instrumental in the transfer of the federal government’s AgriStability program to the B.C. Ministry of Agriculture. His most recent role before joining MNP was General Manager with the B.C. Ministry of Agriculture, where he also represented the province and sat on the National Program Advisory Committee for Ministry of Agriculture business risk program for five years.

AJ was the driving force to build relationships and paved the way that led to signing a MOU for Okanagan College and Chandigarh University for faculty and student exchange. AJ also played a key role on the National AgriStability Administrator working group, where he represented the province to ensure producers are treated fairly and consistently when it comes to national guidelines, and setting the foundation for delivery of the AgriStability and Agri Invest programs.

AJ is a strong believer in giving back to the community. As founding director of the Hope and Heal Foundation, a charitable organization established in his mother’s memory, AJ has helped raise more than $100,000 for the B.C. Cancer Foundation, and more than $100,000 for the KARIS Society to support women living with mental health and addiction challenges. AJ sits on the B.C. Cancer Foundation Advisory Committee and on the KGH Foundation board and chairs the KGH Foundation’s Strategic Development Committee.
