The CRA’s revocation of the input tax credit (ITC) administrative arrangement means dental practices need to adapt — and quickly.
To help you unpack these changes, MNP Partners and members of our Tax Services team, Andrew Linton and Danny Crawford, will be hosting a live webinar on December 18. This hour-long session, called New GST/HST Input Tax Credit (ITC) Guidelines for Dentists and Orthodontists, will break down what you need to know to keep your dental practice ahead of these changes.
In October 2024, the CRA issued Notice 339. It announced that, effective January 1, 2025, dentists can no longer rely on the 35 percent recovery rate previously permitted under a long-standing administrative arrangement. Instead, they must follow the standard rules of claiming ITCs according to the Excise Tax Act.
This change presents both challenges and opportunities for Canadian dental practices. While the revocation means more effort in determining ITCs, it also opens the door for some practices to recover more than 35 percent of GST/HST paid on general expenses. The implications of this are far reaching and could impact your practice’s financial health.
This webinar is a must-attend for dental practice owners, financial decision makers, and office administrators looking to stay informed and ahead of these changes.
