National Leader, Indigenous Tax Services

Deana is a member of MNP’s Indigenous Tax Services team in Edmonton. She delivers tax and succession planning and corporate restructuring services to Indigenous communities, businesses and partners.

A member of Sawridge First Nation, Deana brings a deep understanding and strong ability to connect with clients to her role. She is an attentive listener, working closely with her clients to develop holistic solutions and strategies aligned with their values, while meeting their goals for intergenerational success. With two decades of experience in accounting and finance, Deana’s goal is to create a meaningful, positive impact on communities and families.

Deana helps First Nations, Metis Nations and entities owned by these communities - including trusts, partnerships, corporations and not-for-profit organizations – as well as Indigenous entrepreneurs, professionals and business owners and non-Indigenous businesses partnering with Indigenous partners.  

Deana earned a Bachelor of Applied Business Administration (BBA) Honours) in accounting from NAIT in 2004. She is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), qualifying as a Certified General Accountant (CGA) in 2004 and completed the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA) In-Depth Tax Course in 2007. She became a Family Enterprise Advisor (FEA) in 2019.

Deana is involved in her community, including as a Sawridge First Nation Audit and Compensation Committee member for several years.
